Frequently Asked Questions
What Services do you offer?
We offer 2D CAD drafting services that include:
- Fire Alarm Shop Drawings
- Residential and commercial floor plan creation
- Document conversion
For a more in-depth look at the services we offer, visit our services page.
What software do you use?
All of our projects are completed with AutoCAD unless otherwise specified.
How do you price your services?
Most of our services use flat-rate pricing for simplicity and transparency. You can purchase these directly through the site without needing a quote. If your project has more complexities than outlined on our services page, you can always reach out to us with the details and we can provide a quote with customized pricing.
How long does it take to complete a project?
Turnaround time depends on project size and complexity, but typical delivery times range from 3–10 business days. We'll always provide an estimated completion date at the start of the project, and keep you up to date on changes in the project timeline as we work.
Do you offer rush services?
Rush turnaround is available on a case-by-case basis and will be priced according to project complexity. Depending on our current overall workload and the size of your project, we may decline to offer rush services.
What file formats will I receive?
All projects by default, and at no extra charge, are delivered in PDF format. For an additional fee you can request delivery of completed plans in .DWG format, which are compatible with AutoCAD and most CAD platforms.
Can you match my title block and drafting standards?
Yes – if you provide an example or DWG template, we can match your title block layout scheme, legends, and notes. If you don't have a standard, we'll apply our clean and professional default layout.
Do you work with AHJs or help with permit submittals?
We prepare CAD drawings intended for permit submission, but we do not directly submit on your behalf. You, your contractor, or your permit handler will need to submit the drawings we produce to the AHJ.
Is T2 an engineering firm or system designer?
No — T2 is not a licensed engineering firm, and we do not operate as the engineer of record or official system designer. Our role is to provide CAD drafting services based on the information, layouts, and specifications you provide.
We specialize in producing permit-ready shop drawings for fire alarm systems, floor plans, and other 2D CAD documents. While we may assist with layout interpretation or general drafting guidance, all design responsibility and code compliance remains with the project’s engineer, contractor, or system designer.
If your project requires review from a licensed professional engineer, we have multiple PEs in our extended network that we can bring in to provide these services — this is available upon request and will incur an additional fee, which is based on scope of work and local AHJ requirements. Otherwise, you will need to source a PE from your own network that can assist with the project.
What is your policy on revisions?
We always offer free revisions for any mistakes on our part, such as typos, formatting issues, or missing details that were provided but accidentally omitted.
That said, we work strictly from the materials and information you provide. If a revision is needed due to an error or change in the original design details you submitted (e.g., new markups, updated device counts, layout changes), that revision may be billable.
Fire Alarm Projects:
One standard revision (not related to our mistake) is included free of charge. Additional revisions beyond that may incur an additional fee based on scope.
Document Conversion & Floor Plan Creation:
These services do not include free customer-requested revisions, except in cases where we made a clear error.
If you're unsure whether a revision would be covered, feel free to reach out with the details — we're happy to clarify before any additional work begins.
